Movers in Downtown Dubai: Tower Move Guide

Tower moves around Burj Khalifa and the Boulevard

Almost every home in Downtown is an apartment in a tower: Burj Khalifa residences, The Address Downtown, Boulevard Point, South Ridge, Standpoint, Burj Views, Claren and Opera Grand are typical addresses. Each tower has its own reception or management office, and that office decides when the service lift and the loading bay are free for you.

Plan the whole day around those two bookings. Ask reception how many hours the lift is yours, whether the movers must pad the lift car and corridors, and whether a full-size truck fits the loading bay or a smaller vehicle has to shuttle. The service lift booking guide lists the questions to ask, and the high-rise moving tips cover packing for long lift runs.

Downtown flats often hold glass tables, large TVs and framed art. If yours does, ask for full packing in the quote, and for crating on paintings and mirrors through a mover that handles art moves.

Emaar move-in and move-out permits in Downtown

Emaar Community Management (ECM) lists Downtown Dubai among the communities it manages. Its Downtown FAQ says you apply for the move-in permit online on the Sakani portal, upload the documents, and receive the permit by email in one business day. The EMAAR ONE app also takes move-in requests.

Register your Ejari first (see the Ejari guide), because ECM's move-in pages for its other communities ask tenants for the Ejari copy, Emirates ID and passport with visa page. ECM runs a move-in and move-out policy, so book a permit for leaving as well. The Emaar permit guide walks through both.

Getting a moving truck to a Downtown tower

Downtown sits right beside Sheikh Zayed Road. From 1 October 2026 the RTA bars trucks from Sheikh Zayed Road between 6 am and 10 pm, so a mover with a large vehicle may need another approach road or an early slot. Ask which vehicle and route it plans before you lock in the lift booking.

Ask your tower for its permitted moving hours too, and check them against the truck rules before you choose a date. During Ramadan building and working hours change; moving during Ramadan explains what to expect.

Downtown Dubai moving questions

How fast does Emaar issue a move-in permit for Downtown Dubai?

Emaar Community Management says the move-in permit is emailed within one business day of a complete application on the Sakani portal. Apply as soon as your Ejari is registered, then book the service lift with your tower.

Do I need a permit to move out of a Downtown apartment?

Yes. ECM runs a move-in and move-out policy for its communities, so apply for the move-out permit at least one business day ahead. Your tower will also want notice so it can reserve the lift for the move-out.

What does a 2-bedroom move in Downtown Dubai cost?

Allow AED 1,800–3,000 for the move itself, going by Dubai movers' and quote sites' published prices, plus AED 800–1,200 if you want it packed. Some towers also hold a refundable deposit of AED 1,000–2,000 while the lift is in use.
