Office Movers in Dubai: Planning an Office Relocation
Office movers in Dubai typically charge AED 3,000–7,000 for a small office of about 5 to 15 desks and AED 7,000–12,000 for 15 to 50 desks (market ranges last checked October 2026). Most office relocations run over a weekend or overnight, after both buildings approve the dates and loading docks.

What an office relocation involves
Office shifting in Dubai is less about heavy lifting and more about order. Every desk, chair, monitor, crate of files and network cable has to leave the old floor in a known sequence and land at the right desk on the new one, so staff can sit down and log in on the first working day.
A typical plan is: the mover surveys both offices; staff pack their own desks into crates in the last week; the IT team shuts down systems on the final afternoon; the crew works through the evening or weekend; and IT staff test everything before people arrive. Furniture that is not worth moving is sold, donated or removed as a separate job.
Office moving costs in Dubai
Typical market ranges for moving an office within Dubai, compiled from public price pages of office movers. Weekend or overnight work usually costs more.
| Job | Typical range |
|---|---|
| Small office (about 5 to 15 desks) | AED 3,000–7,000 per move |
| Medium office (about 15 to 50 desks) | AED 7,000–12,000 per move |
| Refundable move deposit (some buildings) | AED 1,000–2,000 one-off |
A working timeline for an office move
Adjust the timing to the size of the office. Larger moves and moves into a new fit-out need longer.
| When | What to do |
|---|---|
| Two to three months before | Confirm the new lease and fit-out date, read the exit terms of the old lease, and ask movers for site visits. |
| Six to eight weeks before | Choose the mover, agree the move dates, and order internet and phone lines for the new office. |
| Four weeks before | Apply to both buildings for the work permits and loading dock slots, and plan desk positions on a floor plan. |
| Two weeks before | Hand out crates and labels, decide what is being thrown away, and confirm the IT shutdown plan. |
| Moving weekend | IT shuts down systems, the crew moves and rebuilds furniture, and IT tests every desk before Monday. |
| First week after | Collect crates, check for damage and missing items, and hand the old office back as the lease requires. |
Inventory and asset labelling
Good labelling is what makes an office move fast on the other side. Agree the system with the mover before anything is packed.
Number every destination
Give every desk, office and meeting room in the new space a number on the floor plan, and put the same number on everything going there: crates, chairs, monitors and pedestals. Use one colour per floor if the new office spans more than one.
Keep an asset list
List computers, screens, printers and phones with their serial or asset numbers before the move. Tick them off at the new office, so anything missing shows up on the first day rather than weeks later.
Label the network cabinet
Photograph the network cabinet and label both ends of each patch cable before it is unplugged. The IT relocation guide covers servers and network kit in more detail.
Building approvals and access for office moves
Most Dubai office towers only allow moves outside business hours and through a booked loading dock and service lift. Both buildings usually want the move dates, the moving company's details and sometimes its documents before they approve. In JLT, each tower's building management runs the process under DMCC; the DMCC permits guide explains it.
Trucks also have to fit around RTA's road rules. From 1 October 2026, RTA bars trucks from Sheikh Zayed Road between 6 am and 10 pm, along with other peak-hour restrictions, so an evening or weekend move often suits the roads as well as the buildings. Ask the mover how its trucks will route around them.

Office relocation questions
Questions businesses ask before an office move in Dubai.
How much do office movers cost in Dubai?
Typical market ranges, last checked October 2026, are AED 3,000–7,000 for a small office of about 5 to 15 desks and AED 7,000–12,000 for about 15 to 50 desks. Server rooms, weekend work and phased moves add to it.
How long does an office move take?
Small offices are often moved in one evening or one day. Larger offices usually take a weekend, and the biggest may move in phases over several weekends.
Should staff pack their own desks?
Usually yes. Staff pack personal items and desk files into labelled crates in the last week; the movers wrap and move furniture, screens and shared equipment.
Can office movers work at night in Dubai?
Many do, as long as both buildings approve the hours. Night and weekend work also avoids RTA's peak-hour truck restrictions on main roads.
Who handles the old office handover?
You do, under the old lease. If the lease asks for the space back in its original condition, book a fit-out contractor for partitions and cabling, as movers rarely do that work.
