Which kind of business move are you planning?

Commercial movers in Dubai handle four quite different jobs. An office move is mostly desks, chairs, files and computers, timed so staff leave on a Friday and work at the new address on Monday. A shop or showroom move adds display units, stock and a fit-out at the new site. A warehouse move is about racking, pallets, forklifts and stock control. An IT relocation is the careful part inside any of these: servers, network kit and the order things are switched back on.

Each has its own guide below. What they share is planning: a named person on your side, an inventory, a timetable that both buildings have approved, and a mover who has seen the site before quoting.

Guides for each type of commercial move

  • Office Movers

Office relocation in Dubai: timelines, weekend moves, labelling, building approvals and typical costs.

  • Warehouse Movers

Racking, pallets, forklifts and stock control when moving a warehouse or industrial unit in Dubai.

  • IT Relocation

Moving servers, network kit and workstations in Dubai: shutdown order, packing, labelling and testing.

Typical office moving costs in Dubai

Market ranges for office moves within Dubai, compiled from public price pages of Dubai office movers. Server rooms, free zone approvals and phased moves are usually quoted separately.

Typical Dubai market ranges, last checked October 2026
JobTypical range
Small office (about 5 to 15 desks)AED 3,000–7,000 per move
Medium office (about 15 to 50 desks)AED 7,000–12,000 per move

Published price pages give too few figures for warehouses, retail fit-outs or offices above about 50 desks to show a fair range, so those are priced from a site survey.

Paperwork a business move touches

Trade licence and visas

Your trade licence and employee visas record the business address. Before you move, ask your licensing authority (Dubai Economy and Tourism for mainland companies, or your free zone authority) what has to be updated and when, so renewals are not held up.

Leases at both ends

Read the exit clause of the old lease. Many office and shop leases ask for the space to be handed back in its original condition, which can mean removing partitions, cabling and signage, a job for a fit-out contractor rather than a mover.

Building approvals

Office towers and malls control when contractors may work and which loading docks they use. Both buildings usually want an approved time slot and details of the moving company in advance; the building management approval guide explains what is typically asked.

What a commercial mover will want to know

  • Number of desks, chairs, filing cabinets and meeting rooms, and whether furniture is modular
  • Whether there is a server room or network cabinet, and who will disconnect it
  • The permitted working hours at both buildings and the loading dock arrangements
  • Whether the move is in one go or in phases, floor by floor or team by team
  • What is being thrown away, sold or donated rather than moved
  • Who on your side signs off each stage

What sets the price of a business move

After-hours work
Evening, overnight and weekend work usually costs more than a weekday daytime job.
Furniture type
Modular workstations and partitions take longer to take apart and rebuild than loose desks.
IT handling
Servers and network kit need extra packing, labelling and sometimes a specialist.
Phasing
Moving one team at a time means more trips, but less downtime for the business.
Access windows
Short dock slots at a tower or mall can force a larger crew.

Getting quotes for a commercial move

  1. Name a move coordinator

One person on your side keeps the inventory, the timetable and contact with both buildings.

  2. Ask for site visits

Commercial quotes from photos often miss racking, cabling and access problems; a visit to both sites avoids surprises.

  3. Compare scope, not just totals

Check crew, hours, IT handling, packing, disposal and liability cover line by line, and look up each mover's trade licence on Invest in Dubai's licence search before you sign.

  4. Request a quote

Send the basics through the quote form and we pass them to a moving company that does commercial moves in your area.

Commercial moving questions

Common questions from businesses moving within Dubai.

How much does a commercial move cost in Dubai?

For offices, typical market ranges last checked October 2026 are AED 3,000–7,000 for about 5 to 15 desks and AED 7,000–12,000 for about 15 to 50 desks. Warehouses and shops are priced from a site survey.

Can a business move happen over a weekend?

Yes, and most office moves in Dubai are planned that way. Check that both buildings allow contractor work at those hours and book the loading docks for the same slots.

Do we need to tell the licensing authority about a new office?

The trade licence records your business address, so check with Dubai Economy and Tourism or your free zone authority what to update and when before the move.

Who disconnects our servers and network?

Usually your own IT team or IT provider, before the movers arrive. The movers then pack and move the equipment. The IT relocation guide explains the split.
