Packing Services in Dubai: Full and Partial Packing
Packing a 2-bedroom apartment in Dubai typically costs AED 800–1,200 for labour and materials, and a 3 to 4-bedroom villa AED 1,500–3,000 (market ranges last checked October 2026). Packers wrap, box and label everything the day before or the morning of the move; partial packing of just the kitchen and fragile items costs less.

What a packing service includes
A packing crew brings boxes, paper, bubble wrap, tape and wardrobe boxes, then works room by room: kitchen and glassware first, because they take the longest, then books, decor, clothes and bedding last. Each box is labelled with the room and a short description, and on bigger moves numbered on an inventory.
Packers and movers in Dubai usually sell packing as part of a full move, but many will also pack only. Unpacking at the new home, flattening boxes and taking away packing waste are often extra, so ask whether they are included.

Full packing or partial packing?
Full packing suits you when
- You have little time before the move
- You have a lot of glass, china, art or electronics
- You want the mover's liability cover to include contents of boxes
Partial or self-packing suits you when
- You have a week or more and mostly soft items
- You want to sort and declutter as you go
- You only need help with the kitchen, fragile items and wardrobes
Many movers limit their liability for boxes you packed yourself, because they cannot see how the contents were wrapped. Ask how owner-packed boxes are covered before you decide.
Where packing takes the most time
Kitchen
Plates are wrapped one by one and packed on edge, glasses get cell dividers or paper, and pans and appliances fill the rest. A busy kitchen can take longer than every bedroom together.
Wardrobes
Hanging clothes go in tall wardrobe boxes with a rail, so they travel on hangers. Folded clothes go in medium boxes or suitcases.
Electronics and TVs
Flat-screen TVs travel most safely in their original box or a TV carton, standing up. Photograph cable connections first and bag the remote and screws with the set.
What packers usually will not pack
Most crews will not pack gas cylinders, paint, fuel, cleaning chemicals, aerosols or other flammables, and will not take open food or plants in a closed truck. Keep cash, jewellery, passports, Emirates IDs, documents and medicines with you. The list of what movers will not pack covers the rest.
Before the packers arrive
- Set aside a "do not pack" area for documents, valuables, chargers and the first night's essentials
- Empty the fridge and freezer and leave them open to dry
- Throw out, sell or donate what you do not want moved
- Tell the crew which rooms each piece of furniture goes to at the new home
- Check the packing checklist: packing checklist for a Dubai move
What changes a packing quote
- Volume
- Full kitchens, libraries and storerooms add boxes and hours.
- Fragile items
- Glassware, art and electronics need more material and care.
- Wardrobe boxes
- Tall wardrobe boxes cost more than standard cartons.
- Unpacking
- Unpacking and removing packing waste at the new home are often extra.
- Date changes
- Ask what is charged if the packing day moves because the building changes your move slot.
