Independent villas, compounds and Uptown Mirdif
A standalone Mirdif villa has no community gate, so the main approvals are your landlord's handover and, at the other end, your new building's rules. Compounds have a gate and a management office, which may want the mover's details in advance. Uptown Mirdif is managed by EDACOM, Union Properties' community management company; the Union Properties permit guide applies there.
Older villas often come with split air conditioners, curtain rails and wall-mounted TVs that need taking down and refitting. Budget for a move-in clean and a handyman visit at the new house if you need them.
Truck bans around Mirdif
From 1 October 2026 the RTA bars trucks from the residential areas of Al Mizhar and Muhaisnah, both next to Mirdif, between 6 am and 10 pm. Airport Street is closed to trucks from 6:30 to 8:30 am, 1 to 3 pm and 5:30 to 8 pm. Ask your mover how its vehicle will reach your street and pick a start time that avoids those windows.
If you are leaving Mirdif for a smaller flat, sort out what stays behind before the truck comes; junk removal can take the rest.

Mirdif moving questions
Do I need a permit to move into a Mirdif villa?
Not for a standalone villa on a public street; your landlord's handover is what matters. Gated compounds and Uptown Mirdif have their own management, which may want notice and the mover's details.
When are trucks restricted near Mirdif?
From 1 October 2026 trucks are barred from Al Mizhar and Muhaisnah between 6 am and 10 pm, and from Airport Street at 6:30–8:30 am, 1–3 pm and 5:30–8 pm.
What does a 4-bedroom villa move in Mirdif cost?
Expect AED 5,000–7,000 for a 4-bedroom villa, with AED 1,500–3,000 more for packing a 3 to 4-bedroom home.
